Countering Active Violence
This 8-hour course, Countering Active Violence, is a proactive training program designed to help individuals, organizations, and communities recognize, prepare for, and effectively respond to the growing threat of mass violence. Whether you are a member of a church security team, a business owner, school staff, or an armed citizen, this course will give you the tools and mindset necessary to detect potential threats early and take decisive action to protect lives.
You’ll gain insights into the behavioral patterns and warning signs exhibited by potential attackers, how to assess threats, and how to implement layered security measures to deter or stop an attack before it starts. The course also includes training on emergency response planning, effective communication during crisis situations, evacuation and lockdown procedures, and how to coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services.

- What we’ve learned from past mass shootings: trends, patterns, and case studies
- Behavioral indicators and warning signs of potential attackers
- Situational awareness and threat assessment
- Developing a prevention and response plan tailored to your environment
- Environmental design and physical security considerations
- Effective emergency communication and decision-making under stress
- Live scenario-based exercises to reinforce planning and decision-making
Cost:
- $750 for up to 6 students
- $75 for each additional student
- Optional: “Countering the Mass Shooter” textbook available for $25 per student
